So, when I go back to my day,
I arrive in a refreshed way.
During a recent outing with my seven-year-old grandson, I witnessed something that has become routine. Once back home from an indoor playground, he hurried to find his father, my son. After sharing some details of his experience, my grandson came back downstairs emotionally gratified and ready to enjoy the rest of his day.
His behavior reminded me of when I too needed to talk to my Heavenly Father—especially about the heavy or unpleasant things. Unloading my heart before Him is like a spiritual breath of fresh air, allowing me to reset and walk in His peace. Scripture points to this in James 4:10, reminding us of the renewal that comes from His presence. While the world offers many coping mechanisms for stress, nothing compares to the quiet, restoring grace of turning to God.
