Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen – Hebrews 11:1
Have I lost my mind
Moving forward without a sign
Thinking I’ve been invited
To be fearfully excited
On a path not fully clear
Yet trusting that God is near
I now know that faith is this
It’s to hope your plan is His
The opening poem was composed as I pondered faith and its application when pursuing something that ignites both fear and excitement. It’s exploring Hebrews 11:1: “the evidence of things not seen.” This includes not having received confirmation before starting a journey, and the reference to “things hoped for” is about trusting that along the way, God will make it known His approval.
While it would be wonderful to be given proof that you’re on the right path, this isn’t always the case. Oftentimes, faith means moving forward with or without confirmation, even when you feel fearfully excited.
