The Baton – Monday, November 2, 2026

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God – Acts 20:24

Mind ready, feet strong,
Like a runner in a relay race,
I’ve been handed a baton
Of new dreams to chase.

Thus, I dare not slow down;
There’s much awaiting me.
Focused and onward bound,
This, I’m determined to be.

Even if faced with discouragement,
And my zeal starts to slack,
I’ll seek God’s encouragement—
To get my momentum back.

With the right frame of mind,
And my eyes refocused on
What’s appointed me to find,
While running with my baton.

Envisioning myself running in a relay race inspired the opening poem, “My Baton,” which represents a continuation of aspirations—some new and others yet to have manifested. I feel energized to keep moving, believing November will be even more bountiful than its predecessor, October.

Hopefully, you are likewise fueled by heightened anticipation for a month that I interpret to contain Newer Opportunities, Vehemently Expected, Miraculously Bestowed, Eagerly Received, and you’ll join me this week for a deeper exploration of the baton God has for each one of us.
