Live Fully – Sunday, June 14, 2026

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom – Psalm 90:12

To live fully is not envying what someone else has,
Or searching for greener grass.
Nor is it gazing over my shoulder,
For what’s no longer.

It’s making up my mind,
That in the present I’ll find.
New tears of joy to fill my eyes,
Such as those during times gone by.

I need only be willing to give,
Myself the chance to fully live.

A very profound assessment is included in a song by Sheryl Crow, titled “Soak Up The Sun,” that says: “It’s not having what you want; it’s wanting what you’ve got.” This verse dispels the notion of greener grass and that your best days are behind you.  It encourages a new perspective on where you are in life without comparing it to someone else’s current state by embracing the gems all around you.

The saying goes: “Life is not a dress rehearsal; this is the real thing.” Which means, we should seize every opportunity to live fully by moving forward, not looking back or left and right.
