Walking Further (2) – Sunday, April 26, 2026

Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not – Jeremiah 33:3

What comes to mind
Is Andy’s refusal to leave behind
The man who had been
A loyal and trusted friend.

So, Andy included Red,
Unwilling to solo instead
His new chapter in life—
Ups and downs, joy and strife—
Since it is now known
That life is better not spent alone.

Yesterday’s conversation opened with a pivotal scene from The Shawshank Redemption that positioned Red, a parolee, on the cusp of a turning point in his life, contained in a letter from his friend Andy. That moment and so many others remind me of God’s love and the friendship He offers us. This includes not wanting us to live beneath our potential, but to experience the wonderful things that await those who choose to walk further in faith.

Can you imagine that letter written to you from God, seeking you to “come a little further” towards His plans for you?  I can for me. Hopefully, you will say yes and start walking further in faith.
