Becoming An Angel – Friday, April 24, 2026

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained  angels unawares – Hebrews 13:2

I saw an angel today,
But not in a perceived way.
The person didn’t descend from the air—
There were no wings or long white hair.
Just an ordinary human being,
Who allowed me to be seen—
By taking the time
To place my need on their mind.
Yes, an angel came my way,
And I hope to be the same for someone today.

I was inspired to compose the opening poem after a conversation with a man while we awaited our cars to be serviced.  He shared the assistance received from a stranger due to his limited mobility.  I shared how God will place angels in our midst to help us during times of need. It led me to visualize the man’s experience and his desire to emulate.

Becoming an angel is an extraordinary way to demonstrate God’s love to those who need to see it in human form.  It’s also a wonderful way of reciprocating what has been received from others in the past.  Sometimes the simplest gesture of kindness is all that’s needed to make another’s life better.
