For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry – Habakkuk 2:3
It could be to answer the telephone
Then hear an unrecognizable voice
Or driving along an unfamiliar road
Wondering if continuing is the right choice
God never tells you when He’ll show
Or the method and manner He’ll come
Even mundane and undesired situations
Are assigned encounters for some
So how, when, and where doesn’t matter
God is always working through the Holy Spirit
Directing, positioning, and revealing
We need only be patient and wait for it
My inspiration for the opening poem came from when what I wanted to do was altered by what God had wanted me to do. It made me recognize God’s involvement—that nothing is off limits. I need only a desire for discernment and the willingness to obey.
That timeless expression, “Wait for it!” stresses patience because something is about to occur. On this first Monday in October, I encourage us to do just that with wonderful expectation.
