Utterly Proud – Monday, October 12, 2026

The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy – Psalm 147:11

Like a boasting Father,
Running alongside
His daughter,
Shouting her towards victory—
Is the vision I had chosen to see:
God’s Hand directing my way,
Giving me peace to faithfully stay
On the path, guided by His light,
Keeping my destination within sight,
To be empowered to achieve
What faith gives those who believe,
That God isn’t only in the cloud,
But is always nearby—utterly proud.

The opening poem is inspired by a recent venture that had caused me trepidation, even though I knew that it needed to be pursued—not from a place of duress, but to instead put into action what I’ve written about on this site: proactive faith.   Consequently, my choosing to do what I didn’t want to do, even if doubt tagged along, ultimately provided me with the outcome I desired.

As we begin our week, let’s look for every opportunity to please God—not because we need to earn His love, but because we choose to envision Him utterly proud.
