For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them – Matthew 18:20
With a warm hug, I was greeted,
Then guided to the front and seated,
To receive such hospitable care,
As if to have an appointment there.
That my appearance was scheduled to be,
Since something of importance awaited me,
While voices from the choir my ears heard,
My heart was ministered by God’s Word.
His invitation to let go and release,
Every burden that caused my joy to cease,
As the tears flowed down my face,
I sensed restoration was taking place,
Confirmed as I walked out the door,
With inner peace unlike before.
The opening poem captures my experience at last Sunday’s church service and how it became even more meaningful than usual. It felt as if my attendance had been orchestrated to address my heart’s concerns. As a result, I left renewed and ready to move forward.
