Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her – Proverbs 31:28
Since I’ll never stop carrying my child’s hopes and dreams as if my own,
Since I’ll never stop praying their journey not walked alone,
Since I’ll never stop sticking my nose where it doesn’t belong,
Since I’ll never stop struggling to admit when I’ve been wrong,
Then I guess the only thing left for me
With a grateful heart, thank God for my role as Mommy.
If a mother, then you’ve discovered that babies aren’t born with instruction manuals. It’s 24/7 on-the-job training that includes tears and laughter, victories, and mistakes. While demands and responsibilities will shift, a mother’s involvement doesn’t stop once a child reaches a certain age. But will wisely transcend into a comfortable position of love and respect.
Today will be bittersweet for many. Some will be mourning their mother’s absence due to death, while others may be remembering unresolved conflicts. If the latter is where you are, I encourage you to seek God’s guidance towards reconciliation. So that you never need to spend another Mother’s Day not celebrating your mother.
