And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart – Jeremiah 29:13
I don’t have to see You to know You’re there,
Or to hear Your voice tell me You care.
I need only an open heart and mind,
And a longing in each day to find
That in everything You’ll always be
An inseparable companion for me.
If only I could see Jesus. I can remember many times I expressed that thought. I longed for Him in the flesh, to have the type of companionship that’s found in human form. However, as I’ve grown more enlightened and applied the words of John 9:39: “that they which see not might see,” I’ve discovered how to have blind assurance. The greater my desire to connect with Jesus, the more apparent His presence through the Holy Spirit is. As a result, I recognize His inseparable companionship.
While we are assured as Christians of the Holy Spirit’s presence, God knows the importance of having human friendships. And He also knows the glue to keep them together.
