Answering The Call – Monday, July 20, 2026

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me – Isaiah 6:8

As if led onto a stage
Then, given a single page.
Assigned a role to act
Without time to react.
To make it recognized
That I’m incapable, unqualified.
Yet the Director tells me
He knows of my reality.
Which won’t hinder
His power, as my Sender.

The opening poem reflected my trepidation and disbelief when given the task of composing songs. I protested by reminding God of my deficiencies: that I was marginally acquainted with playing a keyboard, and that my voice merited the classification of merely carrying a tune. However, my protest was met with the response: God did not request Moses to be a great speaker; He requested Moses’ obedience to allow Him to use Moses’ voice in a great way. Thus, I was called to demonstrate God’s willingness to use anyone, at any level, who is willing to answer His call.

So, for the remainder of this week, I will share excerpts that began years earlier under the canopy: “Works of Grace.” Hopefully, my willingness to expose my beginnings will encourage you to answer the call God has given you, no matter how inept you perceive yourself to be.
