Known mostly as a legendary rock band, Kiss demonstrated a gentler side through their ballad \u201cBeth,\u201d offering a powerful message about prioritization. The lyrics begin with a woman seeking the attention of a man who is torn between his commitments, followed by this response: \u201cJust a few more hours \/ And I\u2019ll be right home to you \/ I think I hear them calling \/ Oh, Beth, what can I do? \/ Beth, what can I do?\u201d After detailing the painful division between the couple and the emptiness left in their home, the song ends with: \u201cBeth, I know you\u2019re lonely \/ And I hope you\u2019ll be alright \/ \u2019Cause me and the boys will be playing all night.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What makes the song \u201cBeth\u201d so relatable is that it highlights an internal struggle we all face: juggling priorities and managing the tension between selecting what matters and maintaining our commitments. Identifying what is important isn’t enough; our true priorities are proven only when we are forced to choose what to keep and what to put on hold. Jesus addressed prioritization in Luke 14:26 when He required His followers to make Him the priority over all others.\u00a0 His directive didn\u2019t endorse abandoning or hating loved ones; rather, it develops, through discipleship, priorities that align perfectly with His teachings.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As life shifts, our priorities must shift too. However, these adjustments shouldn’t lead to neglect or create disharmony in the areas that matter most.
