The first is a bank robbery\u2014one in a series\u2014in which a masked individual says, \u201cGod doesn\u2019t want anyone to die today,\u201d after showing the teller a picture of their family. The second occurs when Anne Pigeon, a park ranger, confronts Pastor Nelson with her skepticism about his public baptism, calling it a \u201clittle dip in the lake.\u201d The pastor thoughtfully responds, \u201cI believe in redemption, yes. That you can come back from something and start fresh. Don\u2019t you?\u201d Anne adamantly answers, \u201cRedemption, yeah. But you\u2019re selling miracles, and I\u2019m not buying.\u201d<\/p>\n Sometimes, when people struggle with their own demons, they find it hard to believe that others can be set free.<\/em> This was my evaluation of Anne\u2019s doubts surrounding redemption; she still found herself tormented by past traumas, which she self-medicated with alcohol. However, Anne\u2019s perception is not exclusive to non-Christians.
