Esme goes to the police with her concerns of foul play against the former tenant, but is dismissed as overreacting. To gain her friend\u2019s support in her search for answers, Esme acknowledged that she could be the one who had been murdered, and no one would care. It was the reason Esme needed to make certain this woman\u2019s life and death counted.<\/p>\n The value Esme felt towards an individual whom she had never met is reminiscent of the concern Jesus wanted His disciples to have about spreading the gospel when He said, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). The reference to “every creature” meant everyone\u2014regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic status.
