There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise \u2013 Proverbs 30:24<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

“Hey, you’re the new guy, right?” Ralph asked. “Yep, that’s me, the new guy,” Bernie answered. “You\u2019re working too hard. \u00a0Don\u2019t give management any more than what they\u2019re giving you in pay.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0“That’s exactly what I was told when hired.\u00a0 I can either do the least amount of work, or I can start preparing now to get a raise by doing what others aren’t willing to do.” “Suit yourself.\u00a0 They don\u2019t care or see. \u00a0It\u2019s all in vain,\u201d Ralph declared. \u00a0\u201cNot anymore,\u201d Bernie said, pointing at the cameras.<\/p>\n

While ants are perceived as a nuisance, the Bible’s view of them differs.\u00a0 In fact, Proverbs 6:6-8 classified them as objects worth learning from “consider her ways, and be wise.” That despite the lack of supervision,\u00a0 “having no guide, overseer, or ruler,” they fulfill their obligations: “Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.” In other words, they are an employer’s dream: focused, hard-working, and reliable.<\/p>\n

I remember hearing it said: \u201cYou control your work ethic, not your job or whether you\u2019re required to wear a suit or a company uniform.\u201d I believe it\u2019s a theory worth ending the month of April on, and a wonderful reminder of the kind of wise behavior to take into May.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
