A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps – Proverbs 16:9

“Let me be a blessing/To whomever You send my way/Show me who is hurting/Help me to comfort in what I say/While I may not reach every need/I want to be a planter of Your seed/Let me be the one/Who points others to Your Son/In all I do/I’ll be a light for You.”  These poetic verses came to mind as I began planning my week.  I don’t want it to consist only of fulfilling errands and routines.  But to be positioned to perform the services laid upon my heart.   That my week will consist of being…

A Good Samaritan.  To be like the man in Jesus’ Parable, willing to give aid to whomever is placed along my path or in my heart.  An Encourager.  To speak words of kindness and support.   A Farmer.  To plant seeds of hope by telling others about Jesus.  A Defender.  To share God’s goodness and how He has transformed my life.  A Light.  To radiate God’s work in me for His glory.  In other words, as per this classic hymn: “Order my steps in Your word dear Lord/Lead me, guide me everyday/Send Your anointing, Father I pray/Order my steps in Your word/Please, order my steps in Your word.”

While it’s important to meet obligations and responsibilities, as Christians, let’s not forget our most essential relationship: God.  Like me, I hope you will seek to be positioned throughout your week to show and tell others about God.
