I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye – Psalm 32:8
“Order my steps in Your word, dear Lord/Lead me, guide me every day/Send Your anointing, Father I pray/Order my steps in Your word/Please, order my steps in Your word.” This timeless hymn came to mind after a recent conversation with my cousin. It was during that time that I learned of his health issue and how it contributed to his not responding to my initial contact.
However, I realized that the thought to follow up with my cousin wasn’t solely due to concern, but rather divine guidance. Therefore, I concluded that God had guided my steps to fulfill His plan for me to become aware of my cousin’s condition. This assurance aligns with Scriptures that offer messages of encouragement for those who seek to live according to God’s will, such as: “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way” (Psalm 37:23).
On this Sunday, as we prepare for the upcoming week, let’s trust in God’s guidance. Let’s have faith that He will indeed keep His promise to guide our steps. We need only listen to His promptings. Then dutifully, go in the direction He has ordered.
