Mission Possible – Tuesday, April 7, 2026

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness – Ephesians 6:14

I awoke to the sound of a ring at my door, which I investigated through the peephole, and found no one. However, after opening the door, I discovered a manila envelope with a message written on top: Play Tape Recorder. Returning inside with the object, I curiously complied.  Pushing the button on the miniature-sized device, I heard a computerized voice saying: “Your mission, should you choose to accept it.” It then outlined the Prince of Darkness’s objective to undermine my relationship with God. I was given specific instructions to follow, before it concluded with: Dum-Dum-Da-Da.

The opening is a spoof of the legendary action franchise Mission Impossible.  In it, unlike Tom Cruise’s character, Ethan Hunt, I am notified of a sinister plot by an evil opponent. It’s a forewarning every believer is made aware of through Scripture and the actions required to make the mission possible.

While on screen, Ethan Hunt’s unrelenting spirit and his daring team are called upon to save the world; however, in real life—to quash Satan’s objective—we Christians need to adorn ourselves daily with the “breastplate of righteousness.” Doing so, we get to change the title from Mission Impossible to Mission Possible.
